I had created a problem that uses a spell checker control which is used to check the inputted text in a data grid for spelling mistakes. This spell checker control uses a set of dictionary files that must be loaded into the control. Before this is done, I must specify their directory locations. I have set their directory locations to be the the same location used by the this program. I want to include these files in the executable when Visual Studio 2010 is creating the executable. How can I include these files in the executable when I direct Visual Studio to build an executable for this program? These dictionary files are to be placed in the Dictionary directory which is located in the same folder as this program.

Altering font controls inside a function

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if this was possible. I'm trying to validate a form to be filled out by the users, and when the required section isn't filled, I increment an

ErrorCount += 1

variable to show that error(s) have occurred inside the program, I then also set an

ErrorArray()

to whatever the corresponding field number is, now I have 0-12 (13 fields). What I have also done is titled the labels that are associated with all of these fields to correspond with the ErrorArray() value that might be set, such as.

PatLabel0
PatLabel1 etc.

What I am trying to do is loop through the array contents, depending on which ErrorArray() values have been set, to go and set the corresponding fontcolor property of that label to red, to show that these now need to be filled out. This is what I have, but Visual Studio doesn't allow me to use the iteration through the loop as a reference to changing properties. Can anyone point me in the right direction to trying to figure this out, or at least tell me what else I could do. Just seems doing 20 if....then....else.... statements with 2 - 3 lines in each of them is redundant when 1 function line could do the same job. This is what I have.

It installed fairly well and works, but I still get a message at the start of the program saying there's a problem with running it on Vista. From all the forums and links I tracked down, I found that M$ admits there's an issue, but there's no fix out there.

Hey everyone,

First off, let me state that I am new to programming/visual basic.

I am having some serious trouble w/ an assignment for a class. The assignment states to create a program that will do 3 things to the users input (including validation):

1. Display all prime numbers from 0 to the users input
2. Count (and display) the number of primes in that range
3. Display the sum of all of those numbers

My problem is #1...I honestly don't know (or understand) what to do in this situation. I imagine that I would have to first tell the program how to check for prime numbers in that range and then tell the program to display those numbers in a list box. Can someone help guide me in the right direction?

MS VC++ Runtime Library error

I've got a program that is supposed to constantly run and every X amount of time it reads an RSS feed. From a fresh boot it will run fine for a few hours and operate normally but then throw the following error:

Hey,

My friend made a program for me using Visual Studio 2008, its a program that goes to a website and refreshes until it finds keywords its looking for then posts a string in an IRC room. I dont know if this matters im just trying to provide as much information as possible.

When I run the .exe file, I get an error saying:

Spotter has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Debug Close program

Then I click debug and use Visual Studio as a debugger and it says:

An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))

I am using Vista, I tried running file as an administrator and in compatibility mode however I still get the same error.

I tried running it on a different computer with XP on it and I get the error:

Spotter has encountered a problem and needs to close.

This application works fine for my friend and the 2 other people he gave it to.

Ive tried many different things like reinstalling Visual Studio and installing OWC. Ive looked on google for hours for fix and I cant find anything. I get the same error running a few other programs of the same still of which I have the source if that can help anyone help me.

I'm having issues coding a project program for my class. It's supposed to be a program for a book publisher.

After trying to utilize the streamreader object and put the information into an array, I keep getting the Message "Index outside the bounds of the array." My array contains the correct number of elements and everything. I tried using the "Step Into" feature of Visual Studio, but it still didn't help us to find the problem. I will copy and paste the code here, but am unable to attach the zip file that I created because of an error with the server. know that this is my first post, but I'm not going to be a "hit-and-run" poster because I'm planning on taking several more VB classes in the upcoming semesters. This project is due at midnight tonight so I'm extremely worried that I won't be able to figure the problem out!

How do i rename a file in the current users \AppDat\Local folder (relative path)
Im using Visual Studio 2008
This is my first program
I renamed the program for the forum.

If I remove the paths and execute my .exe from the \AppData\local\ folder where the settings.ini file is it works fine, but I don't want have to run the program from there.
I tried using %Username% for relative paths, but the computer can't follow the path. Do i have to write code to get the current username or how do programmers do this?

I'm just trying to figure out a little error when attempting to save my files in VS 2005 SP1.

1)Create a new project, and then go to "Project" on the menu.
2)Click components
3)Find the component "Microsoft Internet Controls," check it, and click "Apply" and then "Close."
4)Click the icon that was just added in the tools window, and draw a large sized window with it. This is going to be where you view webpages through your browser, so don't make it small, but leave room for buttons and other accessories.
5)Make a textbox, this will be your URL bar where you type in the address of the website you want to see.
6)Make four command buttons, these are going to be your Go, Back, Forward, and Refresh buttons, change the captions accordingly, and name each of them Cmdgo, Cmdback, CmdForward, and CmdRefresh.

I have a problem in opening a .csproj with visual studio 2008. Below is the error message i received when i tried opening it.

ERROR:

"cannot be opened because its project type is not supported by this version of the application.

I am able to open Website projects which was developed in visual studio 2008 installed in my local machine, in the other visual studio installed in a remote machine.

For sometime now my web application is restarting all the time.My user session is getting expired and then I have to go back to the login page. May be this is happening when changes are being effected to the .cs files in the web app. Is this because of the web app recompiling?

Changing control font size in VS6.0

Is it possible to change the size of the font (or the control itself) in VS6.0? I'm trying to develop software for (or rather, migrate our existing software to) a touch-screen format and that is somewhat cumbersome to use with the radio button and combobox controls being so small.

Is there a way to increase the size of the control and the items in it? What about changing the font size; is that possible and would that cause the items to be larger?

I am trying to create a text box to display all the data from a data base and I can't figure out how to get a line break inbetween each record. It just keeps puting them all together and dosen't go to the next line until there is no more room on the previouse line. What should I do?

(depend on the third column to compare), then i must save this result to new txt file . Examples, this result from 2 txt files:

VBA - emails generated by MS Access - Problem with blocking them by MS Outlook

Hi Guys. Got a problem with Ms Outlook Xp (2002). Basically there is some database created in Ms Access. Some part of it contains name of the people and their email addresses. I have been trying to send email by using loops and method as follows:

DoCmd.SendObject , , acFormatTXT, "email@address.com", , , "Title", "Some text", False

Now the problem:

- At home (office 2000) I've got no problem to send multiply emails at once. Outlook does not give me any massages, whichever security settings (macro or email setting) I change it is still working.

- At work we use office XP (2002) and whenever I start my VB code it asks me a security question as follows:

To answer this security question you have to wait about 5 seconds.

That's why it's a big problem for me. Imagine sending 50 automatically generated emails and waiting 5 seconds to send each of them!!!.

As I have mentioned I haven't got this problem with different Office version. Believe me I have try to change every possible setting in MS Outlook and it's still the same message.

Is there any code or way to get rid of this unwanted message and send multiply emails at once???

Getting MS Vista edition with VC++ 6.0

I'm using VC++ 6.0 and I'm currently using GetVersionEX to retrieve the major and minor versions and the build number, but the most precision it seems to have for Vista is to figure out that it's major version 6. I can't seem to figure out how to use the GetProductInfo function that MSDN recommends (I think that our IDE is too old?). Is there a way to determine which edition the system is running (i.e. Home basic vs Home premium v business ultimate, etc.)

It must be able to run on older OS as well; possibly 95/98 and definitely XP (pre-version 6.0 OS).

Any thoughts?

ETA: Well, according to [url=http://www.codeguru.com/cpp/w-p/system/systeminformation/article.php/c8973]THIS[/url] site, it looks like the wSuiteMask member of OSVERSIONINFOEX should differentiate between Vista versions, but when I create an instance of OSVERSIONINFOEX and call GetVersionInfoEx on it, it does not appear to have the wSuiteMask member. What gives?

I'm a VC programmer, ocasionally I try to get familiar with VB.NET, but frankly each time I quit being disapointed by its limitations. But that's not the point. Somebody asked me for help to write the VB.NET code to list the browsing history.

First I wrote it in VC, it works nice. Now I managed to do the same in VB, except the fact that I'm unable to deal with the conversion from FILETIME to SYSTEMTIME. I'm supposed to call the API function FileTimeToSystemTime but it doesn't work. The problem is that I don't have any experience using COM in VB.NET. There's (at least) one error in my code, but I can't find it.

Here's a sample, simplified as much as possible. I created a Windows Forms application, leaving everything with the default values. The whole code associated with Form1 follows:

First of all I would like to use the latest technology so I don't want to use "Declare".

Note that the two values passed to FileTime variable are a valid FILETIME value (I checked it using Visual C++ code). It refers to March 15, 2009.

To me it appears that a wrong function is called (not the FileTimeToSystemTime function). I have two reasons to believe that:

1. The GetLastWin32Error function returns the error code 1400. That stands for INVALID_WINDOW_HANDLE, but the function is not supposed to deal with any window.

2. The function call

FileTimeToSystemTime(FileTimeBfr, SysTimeBfr)

modifies the value of the SysTimeBfr, even though it's not supposed to do that. The function should just fill in the correponding memory area with the requested info.

What am I doing wrong ? plz help me out!
