Its really not that hard as html if you have some knowledge of html you will definitely learg css easily. I had 2 years of html coding experience and finished an educational program in css in less than 5 months and got the certificate and everything , good place to start would be css zen garden ( i do not know the adress).

Hi, I am new to this forum, and to programming. I just recently started college for an Associates in Computer IT with emphasis in programming, and the class I am taking now is web design. Some sites that I have found useful for CSS are:

That site will teach you about absolute and relative positioning, floating DIVs, and combining those methods of positioning.

I would like to ask you if anyone has any good resources on CSS not the W3schools ones but free ones written by professionals.

I see that the future on web design lays within CSS and would certanly want to follow the trend

Getting organized will help you when designing with CSS. Use descriptive titles so you can easily identify what CSS tag needs revision. I found out that keeping a note and putting remarks are extremely helpful especially during the editing process.

Using CSS means separating your codes from your layout. One advantage is you can actually reduce repetitive HTML codes which only clutter your main code area. Besides CSS can save you time if you would like to change your site format because all you need to modify is your CSS file without going thru all your codes for your layout.

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets. A style sheet simply holds a collection of rules that enables us to easily manipulate our web pages.

When you define a font, color, or any other formatting that is a styling and each set of style has a unique name called a selector. All selectors with their set of styles are placed in a file called style sheet. When a particular style is needed in HTML, you simply refer to the selector.
