HTML/Javascript problem

Hi,

I have two combo boxes in which when the user selects certain items in both combo boxes, it determines whether I display a third combo box.

E.g.

If the user selects Yes to the first combo box which states ' Do you own a pet?' and the user selects Dog from the second combo box which states ' What pet do you own?' . A third combo box will appear stating 'Please choose breed?' with a list of dog breeds.

Can you give me any ideas how best to do this?

Depreciation of tags

For those unfamilar with the term, it's suggested that certain tags should no longer be used. I also seem to be very behind on this kind of thing, without reading the W3C site everyday, how do you keep on top of this. For example, I used to love the <b> tag, but people keep telling me not to use it anymore. Some tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

HTML trick

Just a little basic html tip for those who are trying to download an application from sites which has an paypal order page & link to start you off.

Use a proxy when you try this to hide your ip as some sites will record your ip when you connect for security.

1) Rightclick your mouse (ctrl+click) viewsource and open the source of the site in an a texteditor
2) Search for the word "return"
3) Next to it you can find the url for the thank you page
4) Copy the url and paste it in your browser and you will see the download link

This works only if you can download instantly after payment, it will not work if the link needs to be emailed to you.

how to use bean in JSP(only jsp:usebean, not MVC).

Assume you have a grade.txt file which contains following data:

Tom 90

Jerry 70

Katy 80

John 60

it asks you to create a bean named grade.java, a jsp page named graderesult.jsp, and a html page named gradecheck.html.

gradecheck.html provides a input textbox and a button submit, once you submit the name of the student, the graderesult.jsp will communicates with bean to show the name and the score corresponding to the person.

With the easy availability of different editors generally people do not spend much time into hardcore coding. I have always believed that one should know the engine which is running at the back-end. In this case it is HTML coding. If we know the language on our own then we can take the help of editors to build the skeleton and then use our knowledge to fine-tune it.

Table rows space

I defined a table in my XHTML documnet , that one of its cell is a table itself.I don't know how can I decrease the distance between the internal table rows ? I have set the cellspacing="0" and cellpadding="0" in the outer and inner tables ! But I'm not happy with the spacing the rows in the table yet.I want the rows spaces are less than I see in the page.

Aligning forms

Hi all,

I have a form which leaves a big gap at the bottom of the form when you load the site. Is there any way to stop this from happening. I don't want the gap at the bottom. I would prefer that the spacing around the form is even on all the four edges.

For the starters I think we can <!> defines a comment, <br> inserts a single break line. <button> defines a push button, <caption> defines a table caption, <title> defines a title , <tr> defines a table row. These are very useful tags.

Building a E-Commerce Site, Problem in Positioning Navigation & Background

Hey,
just building a site, im all new to this hence me asking this stupid question :P

the problem im having is there is a huge space at the bottom, like to say i dont know how i managed to get this far but this space at the bottom is there a chance where there is like 5cm of space or something.. i did it before but dont know what ive done :(
ive scaled the background so that no matter which resolution you have got the background and the site matches it. so i dont know if thats the problems or not?
and one other thing with the positioning. My top horizontal navigation changes when i change the resolution. is there a fix of such that no matter which res you have the sub menus auto position.

sorry i hope im making sense to you all ..lol, im sorry for my poor explantion :hehe:
